Father, I woke up today and the weight was already there — before my feet even hit the floor. I don't know how to carry what's in front of me, but I know You promised in Lamentations 3:22-23 that Your mercies are new every morning, and I'm clinging to that right now. I don't need to replay yesterday's failures or rehearse tomorrow's fears. Today is new. You are new in it. Would You lift this heaviness from my chest and replace it with the quiet confidence that You are already in every hour I haven't lived yet? I don't need all the answers before breakfast. I just need You. Help me take the next step, and then the one after that. As David wrote in Psalm 143:8, let me hear Your unfailing love in the morning, for I put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, because I'm lifting my soul to You. I choose to trust You with this day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Lord, I have a list in my head and a schedule on my phone, and I'm tempted to believe this day belongs to me. But it doesn't. You formed this day before I opened my eyes. Proverbs 16:9 says the heart of man plans his way, but You establish his steps. So I'm handing You the calendar. Rearrange it. Interrupt it. If there is someone who needs a kind word or an extra minute, slow me down enough to notice. If there is something I'm chasing that isn't from You, gently close that door. I don't want to be so busy building my agenda that I miss Yours. Give me wisdom in my decisions, patience in the delays, and grace when things don't go the way I planned. I want to end today knowing I walked with You through it, not just sprinted past You. As Psalm 90:12 reminds me, teach me to number my days so I may gain a heart of wisdom. This day is Yours. God, before I look at my phone, before I check what the world wants from me, I want to stop right here and say thank You. Thank You for breath. Thank You for another chance. Thank You for the people sleeping under this roof and the ones I'll talk to today. I confess that I often rush past gratitude to get to the grind, and I don't want to do that anymore. Psalm 118:24 says this is the day the Lord has made — I will rejoice and be glad in it. Not because everything is perfect, but because You are good and You are here. Open my eyes today to the gifts I usually ignore: the warmth of coffee, the sound of birds, a stranger's smile. Let thankfulness be the lens I see everything through. When frustration rises, remind me of what I already have. As 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, help me give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Your will for me in Christ Jesus. I am grateful. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Heavenly Father, as I step into this new day, I ask for Your covering over my mind, my heart, and my steps. You know the battles I'll face before I even see them coming, and I trust that You go ahead of me. Deuteronomy 31:8 tells me that You go before me and will never leave me or forsake me — I will not be afraid or discouraged. Guard my thoughts from anxiety and my words from harm. If the enemy tries to derail me with doubt or distraction, anchor me back to Your truth. But Lord, I also ask for purpose today — not just survival but meaning. Show me one person I can encourage. Show me one moment where I can reflect Your kindness. I don't want to just get through today; I want to be used in it. As Ephesians 2:10 promises, I am Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works that You prepared in advance for me. Lead me to them. I'm ready and willing. In Jesus' name, Amen.
