Stand in the gap for those who have answered the call to go to the ends of the earth.
Father God, Your Son gave the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 — to go and make disciples of all nations. And there are men and women who have taken that command literally, leaving behind everything familiar to carry the gospel to places most of us will never go. Lord, fill them with supernatural courage today. Many serve in regions where sharing the gospel can lead to persecution, imprisonment, or worse. Yet as Acts 1:8 promises, they have received power when the Holy Spirit came upon them. Activate that power now. Give them boldness to speak Your truth without fear. When doors close, open windows. When governments oppose them, work behind the scenes in ways only You can. Remind them that the One who sent them will never leave them or forsake them. Strengthen their resolve when they feel like giving up. Let them see fruit from seeds they have planted, even if it takes years. You are faithful, Lord, and Your Word will not return void. Bless every missionary serving in Your name today. Amen.
Generous Father, You own the cattle on a thousand hills, and no need is too great for You to meet. We lift up missionaries who are struggling financially right now — those whose support has dried up, whose sending churches have forgotten them, or who face unexpected expenses in the field. Lord, provide for them abundantly. Romans 10:15 asks, how can they preach unless they are sent? We confess that we don't always do our part in sending and supporting. Stir the hearts of believers everywhere to give generously to missionary work. But beyond finances, Lord, meet their emotional and relational needs too. Many missionaries live far from family and friends, in cultures they are still learning to navigate. Send them companions and encouragers. Provide safe housing, reliable transportation, and access to medical care. Let them lack nothing that they need to fulfill the calling You have placed on their lives. As Isaiah 6:8 records, they said "Here I am, send me" — and You did. Now sustain them, Father. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Loving Father, we lift up the families of missionaries today — the spouses who share the sacrifice, the children who grow up in foreign lands, and the parents back home who ache with missing their sons and daughters. This calling is not carried by one person alone; entire families feel its weight. Lord, protect missionary marriages. The pressures of cross-cultural ministry, financial stress, and isolation can strain even the strongest relationships. Draw these couples closer to each other and closer to You. For missionary children, give them a sense of belonging and identity even when they feel caught between cultures. Help them build friendships and find joy in the unique life they live. For the grandparents, siblings, and friends back home, ease the ache of distance. As Matthew 28:20 promises, You are with them always, to the very end of the age. Let that truth comfort every missionary family tonight. Knit their hearts together across the miles. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Lord of the Harvest, we pray for spiritual fruit in the fields where missionaries labor. Some have been serving for years without seeing a single conversion. Others are working in soil that has been hardened by centuries of spiritual darkness. Father, we know that You are the one who gives the increase. Paul planted, Apollos watered, but You made it grow. So we ask You to make it grow now. Soften hearts that have resisted the gospel. Open blind eyes to see the beauty of Jesus. As Acts 1:8 declares, Your witnesses will reach the ends of the earth — let that promise be fulfilled through the missionaries we are praying for today. Where there has been discouragement, replace it with expectant hope. Where there has been loneliness, send divine connections. Where there has been opposition, create miraculous breakthroughs. Let entire communities and people groups come to saving faith. May the beautiful feet described in Romans 10:15 carry good news that transforms nations. We believe in a great harvest. In Jesus' name, Amen.
