He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds — bring your body to the Healer.
Prayer for Physical Healing
Heavenly Father, I come before You right now carrying a body that is tired and in pain. You are Jehovah Rapha — the Lord who heals — and I believe with everything in me that You are able to do what no doctor, no medicine, and no human hand can do. You formed me in my mother's womb. You know every cell, every nerve, every place where pain has taken root. I ask You, Lord, to reach into this body with Your healing hand and restore what has been broken.
Where there is disease, bring health. Where there is inflammation and swelling, bring peace. Where there is weakness, bring strength. I don't come to You based on my own deserving — I come on the merit of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses on the cross and by whose stripes I am healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Give wisdom to every doctor and medical professional involved in my care. Let their hands be guided by Yours. And while I wait for healing, sustain me with Your grace. Remind me that You are near to the suffering, that You see my tears, and that You are not distant from my pain. I trust You, Father. I receive Your healing in faith. In Jesus' name, amen.
Prayer for Emotional Healing
Lord, You know I've been carrying wounds that no one can see from the outside. There are places in my heart that have been fractured by loss, by betrayal, by words that cut too deep, and by seasons I never expected to walk through. I come to You today not hiding the mess, but laying it all out before You — because You are safe, and You are good, and You promised to heal the brokenhearted.
I ask You to come into the places of my pain. Shine Your light into the dark corners of grief and shame and fear. Where lies have taken root — the voices that say I am too broken, too far gone, too much — replace them with Your truth. Remind me that I am beloved. That I am seen. That my suffering is not wasted in Your hands.
Heal the memories that still sting. Bring peace to the thoughts that spiral at 2 a.m. Restore my joy, Lord — not a surface-level happiness, but the deep, unshakeable joy that comes from knowing I am held by You. Teach me to grieve well, to forgive freely, and to receive the comfort You so generously offer. I don't have to carry this alone. Today I choose to lay it down at Your feet. In Jesus' name, amen.
Prayer for Healing from a Chronic Illness
Father God, living with a chronic illness is one of the hardest paths I have ever walked. There are days when the pain is relentless, when the exhaustion weighs on me like a stone, and when the losses pile up faster than I can grieve them. I don't always have the words to pray. But I know You hear the groans too deep for words, and I trust that Your Spirit intercedes for me even in my weakest moments.
I ask You for healing — complete, miraculous, sovereign healing. I will not stop asking. But I also ask You for something I need just as much: the grace to live faithfully in the waiting. Give me strength for today — not the whole year, not the whole month, just enough for today. Remind me that Your mercies are new every morning and that Your compassion does not run out.
Help me to find community with others who understand this road. Guard my mind against bitterness and despair. When I feel forgotten, remind me that You have engraved me on the palms of Your hands (Isaiah 49:16). Use this illness, somehow, for Your glory and my growth — even as I believe and pray for its removal. You are still sovereign, still good, still with me. I trust You with all of this. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
Prayer for Healing After Surgery
Lord Jesus, I thank You that the surgery is behind me. I lift up my body to You now in the recovery process and ask that Your healing power would move through every incision, every sutured tissue, every place that was opened and closed by human hands. You are the Great Physician — the hands of those surgeons were guided by Yours — and now I ask You to complete the work of restoration from the inside out.
Protect me from infection and complication. Let the healing be swift and thorough. Manage my pain, Lord — give the medications wisdom to work as they should, and bring relief to my body as it recovers. Help me to rest without guilt, to accept help from those around me, and to be patient with a process that takes time.
Strengthen my immune system. Restore my energy levels day by day. When discouragement creeps in because recovery feels slow, anchor me in Your promises. You are the same God who raised Lazarus from the dead — a healing body is well within Your power. I declare that I will come out of this season stronger, and I will give You the glory. Thank You for the gift of medical care, for the hands that helped me, and for the hope that is found only in You. In Jesus' name, amen.
Prayer Declaring Healing Over Your Body
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth — the same Jesus who healed the leper, gave sight to the blind, and raised the dead — I declare healing over my body today. I stand on the Word of God which says that by His stripes I am healed. I stand on the promise that He sent His Word and healed them (Psalm 107:20). I stand on the covenant of Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals.
I speak to every symptom and say: you do not have the final word. I speak to every diagnosis and say: my God is bigger. I speak peace over my nervous system, restoration over my organs, strength over my muscles and bones. I rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus' name, and I receive the healing that was purchased at Calvary.
Father, I am not demanding or commanding You — You are sovereign and I surrender to Your will. But I am a daughter of the King, and I know Your heart is healing. So I come boldly before Your throne of grace, asking for healing with faith and expectancy. I choose to praise You in advance of what I cannot yet see. I choose to thank You, because thanksgiving is the language of faith. You are worthy of my trust, no matter what. But I believe. I receive. And I give You glory. In the matchless name of Jesus, amen.
