Prayer for Prayer Life

Lord, I come before You today acknowledging that my prayer life has grown cold and distant. I confess that I've allowed busyness, distraction, and discouragement to pull me away from the intimacy I once knew with You. I'm sorry for neglecting this sacred conversation with my Father. Yet I believe Your Word when it says that You draw near to those who draw near to You, and I desperately want to experience that closeness again. Rekindle the fire within me, Lord. Awaken my heart to the privilege of prayer. Help me see prayer not as another task on my to-do list, but as a loving conversation with the One who knows me completely and loves me unconditionally. Give me discipline without legalism, passion without perfectionism. Remove the shame I carry about my inconsistency and replace it with grace and hope. Teach me to pray with honesty and vulnerability, bringing You my true self—my fears, my joys, my struggles, my celebrations. I want to experience the transforming power of genuine prayer. Work in my heart, adjust my priorities, and help me find joy in seeking Your face. Thank You for Your patience and eternal faithfulness. Amen.

But here's what I know: You don't require perfection. You're not keeping score. You're not disappointed in me for struggling. Help me release this crushing weight of expectation—both from myself and from what I think You expect.
