There is no more important prayer you will ever pray. Whether you are coming to faith for the first time or praying for someone you love, these words carry eternal weight — and God is listening.
✨ If you are praying the Sinner's Prayer for the first time — welcome. Say it from your heart, not just your lips. Heaven rejoices over you today (Luke 15:10).
The Sinner's Prayer — Receiving Jesus as Lord
Lord Jesus, I come to You just as I am. I know that I am a sinner — I have fallen short of Your glory and lived for myself instead of for You. I am sorry, Lord. I genuinely repent of my sin and turn away from it today.
I believe that You are the Son of God. I believe that You died on the cross to pay the penalty for every sin I have ever committed, and that You rose from the dead on the third day — victorious over sin and death. Your resurrection is my hope.
Right now, with all that I am, I open the door of my heart and I invite You in. Come be the Lord and Savior of my life. Forgive me completely. Wash me clean. Make me new. I am Yours.
Holy Spirit, fill me now. Lead me, guide me, and change me from the inside out. Help me to walk with You every day from this moment forward.
Thank You, Jesus. I am saved. I am Yours. In Your precious name, Amen.
Prayer for an Unsaved Child
Father God, I come before You on behalf of my child, who is so precious to me — and even more precious to You. You knew them before I held them in my arms. You formed them with purpose and with eternity in mind.
Lord, I am asking You today to draw my child to Yourself. You said in Your Word that You desire all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. I am standing on that promise for my child right now.
Soften their heart. Send people into their life who shine with Your love. Let the seed of Your Word that has been planted take root. Break down every wall of resistance, every distraction, every lie of the enemy that says faith is not for them.
Lord, I trust You with my child's soul. I will keep praying. I will keep loving. And I will trust You to do what only You can do — save them, hold them, and never let them go. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayer for an Unsaved Spouse
Lord, loving someone who does not yet know You can be one of the loneliest places to stand. I love my spouse deeply, but there is a part of their life that is still closed to You, and I feel the ache of that distance every day.
I am not giving up. I am bringing them to You in prayer right now, trusting that You love them even more than I do and that Your Spirit is already at work in ways I cannot see.
God, remove the blinders. Let Your love become undeniable to them through the life we share together. Make me a faithful, grace-filled witness — not preachy, not pressuring, just genuinely transformed. Let them see You in me on the ordinary days.
Prepare their heart for the moment You reveal Yourself fully to them. I am asking for their salvation with all the faith I have. No one is too far gone, and I believe with everything in me that they will one day stand beside me in Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayer for a Prodigal Returning
Heavenly Father, You told the story of a father who ran — ran — toward his returning son while he was still a long way off. That is who You are. That is the kind of love that stops me in my tracks.
I am praying for someone who once knew You but has wandered far. They may feel too far gone, too dirty, too ashamed to come back. Break that lie, Lord. Let them hear the sound of Your feet running toward them.
Remind them of the truth — that nothing they have done has disqualified them from Your grace. That the cross was more than enough. That the door to Your house has never been closed.
And when they begin to turn back toward home, whether it is one small step or a full sprint, meet them in the road. Throw a robe around their shoulders. Call for a celebration. Let them know, without any doubt, that they are still Your child and You are still their Father. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Rededication Prayer — Coming Back to Christ
Jesus, I knew You once — or I thought I did. Somewhere along the way I let distance grow. I got busy, or hurt, or distracted, or I simply drifted. And now I am standing here, a little older and a lot more aware of how much I need You.
I am not starting over — I am coming home. Your grace did not expire while I was gone. Your love did not run cold. You were faithful even in the seasons when I was not.
Today I recommit my life to You. I lay down the habits, the distractions, and the half-commitments. I want the real thing — a living, breathing relationship with You. Fill me with Your Spirit fresh. Restore the joy of my salvation. Show me who I am in You again.
I am done wandering. I am Yours, Lord. Fully, finally, completely. Lead me from here. In Jesus' name, Amen.
