Interceding for our nation — for healing, for unity, for leaders who fear God, and for the hearts of the American people.
General Prayer for America
Lord God, we come before you on behalf of this nation.
You are the author of history, the one who raises up nations and humbles them. America is not beyond your reach — no divide is too wide, no corruption too deep, no wound too old for you to heal. And so we come with boldness: God, put your hand on this land.
Forgive us for the places where we have turned away from you — where we have trusted in our own power and forgotten that righteousness exalts a nation. We repent on behalf of the pride and injustice woven through our history.
But we also ask for revival. A genuine, sweeping, culture-shaping awakening. Let the Church in America rise and be the light you called it to be. Let your people be known not for political allegiance, but for love — radical, costly, Christlike love.
Bless this nation, not because we deserve it, but because you are a God of mercy. Move in this land.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayer for National Unity
Father, the division in our nation runs deep — and I know it grieves you. You created human beings in your image, and we have been treating each other as enemies instead of neighbors.
I confess my own part in the polarization. The times I dismissed people who see things differently. The times I let anger drive my words. Forgive us — all of us — for choosing sides over seeking truth.
Lord, only you can truly unite us. No political solution, no leader, no movement can do what only the Spirit of God can accomplish in human hearts. So I ask for a supernatural softening — a collective humility that lowers the temperature and allows real conversations to happen.
Let the body of Christ be a model of unity — not in pretending differences don't exist, but in choosing to love across them. Let the Church be the most unified community in this divided land.
Heal us, Lord. Bring us together. Let our national motto be more than words: one nation, under God.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayer for American Leaders
God, your Word is clear: we are to pray for those in authority — not only for those we voted for, but for all who lead.
So I pray today for the President and the entire executive branch. For the members of Congress. For the Supreme Court justices. For governors, mayors, and local officials. For every person entrusted with the responsibility of governance.
Give them wisdom that goes beyond their own intellect. Give them the courage to do what is right, even when it is unpopular. Protect them from the corruption that power so easily breeds. Surround them with honest advisors and shield them from flattery.
For those who do not know you, Lord — draw them toward you. Let the weight of leadership reveal to them their need for a wisdom greater than their own.
For those who do know you — give them the courage to lead with integrity and the conviction to stand for justice.
May the fear of God be their foundation.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayer for Healing of Division
Lord Jesus, you prayed that your people would be one — as you and the Father are one. That prayer has never been more needed than it is now.
We are a fractured people. Divided by politics, by race, by economics, by ideology. Some of those fractures run along old wounds that have never fully healed. Some are fresh and raw. And the noise only seems to grow louder.
I don't know how to fix this, Lord. But you do.
Come and do what only you can do. Open eyes to see the humanity and dignity in those we've written off. Soften hearts that have grown hard from repeated hurts. Create unexpected moments of connection across the very lines that divide us.
Let your Church lead the way — by loving our neighbors, serving our communities, and refusing to let political identity override our identity in Christ.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love. Where there is discord, let us sow peace.
You are our peace. Come and heal us.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayer at Election Time
God over all nations, we bring this election season before you.
You are not a Republican or a Democrat. You are not surprised by the candidates, the campaigns, or the outcome. You are sovereign over every election, and that truth is our anchor when the political world feels like chaos.
Grant wisdom to every voter — help us vote not out of fear or tribalism, but out of genuine conviction about what is good, true, and just. Help us hold our political preferences loosely and our faith tightly.
Protect the integrity of the electoral process. Expose corruption wherever it exists. Let the results be trustworthy and the transition of power peaceful.
And after the votes are counted, Lord — whoever wins — let your people be known for grace, not gloating; for intercession, not bitterness. Let us pray for the new leaders as earnestly as we prayed before the election.
Our hope is not in elected officials. Our hope is in you alone.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
